It Started With a House Fire
I woke up to a teeth jarring crash. One of the loudest sounds I had ever heard in my life. My eyes immediately flew open to see light was pouring in through my bedroom window. Wait a second, glancing at the alarm clock, why is it so bright outside at 3:30AM in the morning? I was still half asleep as I moved the curtain aside to see a wall of flame on the other side of the window. This was the day I lost my house of seventeen years.
Lee Ann, Kyle and I all escaped the house with our lives, and I am grateful for that beyond words. Our family's pet cat, Chairman Meow, did not survive the fire.
Dozens of people have asked how they could help as we have started to recover from the fire. With our basic needs met, I did not want to ask for handouts. What I wanted to do was offer something of real value in exchange for a few dollars.
